Privacy policy

Draft for legal review, 8 October 2026. Text in [square brackets] is for the owner to fill in or decide.

Who we are

MyWellth is a financial-wellness education service run by [legal business name], [postal address] ("MyWellth", "we", "us"). If you have a question about your privacy, or want to use any of the rights below, email hello@mywellth.ca. Our privacy officer is [name or role].

MyWellth is for education only. It doesn't give personal financial advice, and it never asks for bank logins or account numbers.

What we collect

The waitlist. If you join the waitlist before MyWellth opens, your email address, that you agreed to hear when MyWellth opens (with the date and the wording you saw), whether and when you confirmed your address, and the country and province or state your internet address points to (not the internet address itself). We use it only to tell you when MyWellth opens. You can take yourself off the list with the link in our email; we then stop emailing you, and we delete waitlist entries [within 12 months of MyWellth opening].

Your account. Your first name, your email address and a password (stored only in scrambled form by our sign-in provider), or the basic details Google shares if you sign in with Google (your name and email address).

Where you signed up from. Your country, worked out from your internet address when you sign up, so we can show prices in Canadian or US dollars. We don't keep the internet address itself with your account.

Your answers and choices. Your answers to the questions when you join (how you feel about debt, how much time you have, your life stage, when reminders suit you), your time zone, your currency and number style, and your reminder and email choices.

Your entries. Everything you choose to write in MyWellth: worksheet answers, your Snapshot, notes, net-worth items, check-ins, reviews and the status of each area. Some of these may include amounts if you choose to enter them. You decide what goes in; none of it is required.

Your agreements. When you agreed to these terms and this policy, and whether you agreed to news and tips by email, with the date and where you did it.

Your subscription. Your plan, its status and when it renews. Payments are handled by Stripe: we never see or store your card details.

Messages we've sent. A record of which reminders and account emails we've sent you and when, so nothing is sent twice.

Reminders on your devices. If you turn on reminders, your browser gives us an address for sending them to that device. It doesn't identify you.

How MyWellth is used. Events such as "an area was opened" or "a check-in was saved", linked to an anonymous account number, with broad details: your country, your trial day, your subscription status, your answers to the joining questions, and the kind of browser and device you're using. Never your name, email address, entries, amounts or notes, the addresses of pages you visit, or your location. We don't use cookies for this.

Problems and security. If something goes wrong in the app, a report of where it went wrong, with anything that could be an entry (numbers, quoted text, email addresses) removed first. To protect accounts, we count sign-in and other attempts in a way that doesn't store your email or internet address. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, including internet addresses, for a short time.

Why we use it

  • To run your account and keep your entries in step across your devices.
  • To send the emails and reminders you've asked for, and essential account emails (about your free month ending, payment problems, or your account being deleted).
  • To take payments and keep the records the law requires.
  • To keep MyWellth secure and working, and to understand which parts help people, so we can improve it.

We don't sell your information, share it for advertising, or use it to make decisions about you. We only send news and tips by email if you've agreed, and you can stop them at any time.
